Nutmeg Nostalgia has been upping our dressing, sauce, and marinade game recently!
We LOVE sauce over here! So it was only right to get on the Green Goddess Dressing wave. It is perfect for salads, as a dip, on Buddha Bowls, and so much more! Many vegan dressings are made with tahini. Nutmeg Nostalgia wants to give you something creamy but packed with all the bold flavors of fresh herbs, lemon, and more. This dressing only has 9 ingredients, takes 10-20 minutes, but a blender is required!
What is Green Goddess Dressing?!
This dressing has origins back to the Palace Hotel in San Francisco in 1923. The hotel's executive chef Philip Roemer wanted to pay tribute to actor George Arliss and his play, The Green Goddess.
Typically, Green Goddess is a salad dressing made by combining mayonnaise or sour cream, with lots of tarragon, anchovy, chives, lemon juice, and more. So in a literal sense the dressing got its name because of the green tint.
What does Green Goddess taste like?
The best way to describe this dressing is like a creamy herby caesar dressing, with hints of garlic, and citrus.
